For current Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Instructors (RFAI/WFAI/WFRI) who wish to recertify their instructor certification.
This 6 hour course recertifies candidates to teach either Red Cross Remote First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, or Wilderness First Responder .
This session will emphasize instructional techniques and offer a chance to exchange experiences with fellow instructors in a cooperative setting. Participants will engage in discussions on effective teaching methods and facilitation strategies. The agenda comprises individual and group tasks, hands-on teaching practice, principles of injury prevention, fostering inclusivity, and promoting progressive learning.
In order to recertify your instructor certification, you must meet the following prerequisites:
A current CRC Instructor certification, either Remote First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, or Wilderness First Responder.
Have taught a minimum of three Canadian Red Cross First Aid Program courses during the three-year certification period (including at least one at the highest level you are certified to teach)
Please submit teaching records through MyRC. Courses which were taught in combination (example: Standard First Aid and Emergency First Aid) do not count as separate courses for the purpose of re-certification prerequisites.
