What happens if help is more than an hour away? Wilderness and remote environments require specialized skills, equipment and training. The Canadian Red Cross Remote First Aid (formally Wilderness & Remote First Aid) is a 20-hour course designed for individuals who live or work in non-urban, remote or wilderness wokplaces or communities. You will learn skills and strategies for providing care in a remote setting for up to 24 hours through learning activities and scenarios with real-life situations specifically designed for wilderness and remote environments.
Key learning concepts include: Planning, prevention, and situational awareness, wound care, and environmental emergencies.
The majority of this course (except the first night) will be taught outdoors, regardless of the weather, so please dress appropriately.
